When comparing offers, distinguish follicle extraction from implantation. A technique name alone does not explain which plan suits you.
Extraction and implantation are different stages
FUE describes the individual extraction of follicular units. Some practitioners use DHI to describe direct implantation or implantation tools. ISHRS explains that it is not a separate method of extracting hair. Sapphire refers to the instrument used to create recipient sites.
How to compare two plans
Request a written explanation of the hair-loss diagnosis, donor-area assessment, hairline design and graft distribution. Ask why the plan was chosen for you rather than relying on the newest-technique label.
- Who is the responsible doctor and what is their role at each stage?
- How was the proposed graft number determined?
- How will the donor area be protected?
- What density limitations should you expect?
- Who provides follow-up after you return home?
Before agreeing
Compare the complete service, cost and follow-up. This is general information; technique selection requires an individual assessment and does not guarantee a particular result.
